Clay is a Rock Star!

Clay went to a cool rock band camp this last week. They had four days to learn, and on the last day, they put on a performance. There were 6 "groups" total; Clay was in two of them. In this video, he sang, and played backup guitar in the other group. I thought this was AWESOME! Even his dad was impressed with what these kids accomplished in that amount of time!

Vail, 2009

Long time since the last post, but a great picture of two of our ski bums from Spring Break.
Mitchell, Sam, Clay and I went to Colorado for a wonderful 10 days over the boys' days off from school. We had lots of good conditions, good food, fun and a sketchy exit when a snow storm hit the day before we were to leave!
Sam is 16 today! Happy Birthday, my sweet boy. I hope it is your best year yet!

The Atlanta Trip

Sam on the floor!

Mitch took Sam & Clay to Atlanta for the ACC tournament March 14 to see Carolina play. They lost (boo), but the boys had a great time, and Mitch and Sam had GREAT seats, about 6 rows off the floor, right behind the 'Heels. Clay sat with Sonny and Joe a little farther up, as he was a last minute addition to the trip. Fun was had, and this is the only picture they took that was in focus. Must have been exciting!

Beau's Great Escape

Beau, our seven month old puppy, made a bold escape in the snow storm Sunday night. Mitch decided that it was okay to let him go without his leash while we strolled in the winter wonderland. Beau, who is much smarter than we previously thought, shot through the neighbor's yard and into the night! We called and called, and still no Beau!
For about 5 hours he explored, who knows where, in the snow! I was soooo upset, and Mitchell felt terrible. He and the boys set out with flashlights to no avail, and later on, in the car to roam the neighborhoods around us. He knocked on doors, and our wonderful neighbors in Applewood joined them in the quest for Beau. Unfortunately, he was no where to be seen.
In the meantime, I thought the worst, and wailed and carried on, scared he would never be found...his collar had his rabies tag and jingle bells (the better to hear him with), but no ID. I went to sleep crying, and Mitchell stayed up to keep watch in case he got tired or cold and decided to come home.
I was awakened by the little bugger licking my face around 2:30am...he was muddy and stinky, but he was home. Monday morning he got a bath, and by Monday afternoon, he had a new Wubba toy and a shiny new ID tag for his noisy collar. He WILL be fixed by this time next month. He had his night on the town, but the party is over!

Don't Let Your Husband Spoil Your Bird Dog!

I shouldn't let my puppy spend too much time with the old man....
